Set in a unique area, between the majestic Alps and the Ligurian coast, Cuneo and its province are an ideal tourist destination. The city is located a short distance from some of the most popular ski resorts in the world, with a series of areas where you can practice all kinds of outdoor activities. A perfect place for sport lovers and unspoiled nature, with the Po Valley and its Monviso, the Val Tanaro, and twenty valleys that stretch out offering splendid views.
One of the most recommended ski resorts in the province of Cuneo is the vast Mondolè Ski area, consisting of more than 130 km of slopes, of which about 97 are dedicated to alpine skiing. It has undergone various transformations in recent years with the improvement of 24 ski lifts, consisting of 14 chairlifts and 10 ski lifts, and the upgrading of snow machines.
The stations of Artesina, Frabosa Soprana and Prato Nevoso, ideal destinations for skiing in Cuneo, are in this area. The former, which is located in the lower part of Mount Mondolè, has slopes for alpine skiing especially suitable for beginners. There are also more important slopes at higher altitude, in the Rocche Giardina area. Inside the Prato Nevoso station there is an area dedicated to those who want to have fun in a more relaxed environment: thanks to the fully equipped Snow Park, and the presence of a halfpipe, it is the favorite destination of freeskiers. There are also itineraries for off track enthusiasts. Frabosa Soprana, on the other hand, has several lifts that connect with Prato Nevoso, across Monte Moro using the Malanotte Prel chairlift.
Within the area, in addition to the Snow Park and slopes dedicated to snowboarding enthusiasts, there is a facility for night skiing. There are also several playgrounds available for children, with inflatables and school fields, making it a perfect destination for families as well. Cuneo offers a great deal of opportunities for those who love skiing and outdoor activities, for a fun-filled holiday with friends and family: a piece of Italy to discover with Air Dolomiti’s flights to Cuneo.
