Interesting facts about Munich

Did you know that in Munich, beer is more than just a beverage? It is a fundamental element of the local culture, still brewed today according to the ancient "purity law" (Reinheitsgebot) of 1516, which stipulated that only barley, hops, and water could be used.

Also interesting is the height limit for buildings in the centre of Munich. To preserve the historical skyline, a 2004 referendum established that no new construction can exceed 100 meters. This limit was not chosen randomly; it is based on the height of the Frauenkirche, the famous cathedral in Munich, whose towers reach just about 100 meters.
