High-flying Christmas Menu: Air Dolomiti and Tommasi Family Estates for a journey through Italian flavours

Fine ingredients, tradition and creativity: the perfect mix for an unforgettable gastronomic experience, accompanied by the best wines of the Tommasi family

Verona, 9th December 2019 - Air Dolomiti, the Italian airline of the Lufthansa Group, is preparing for Christmas: from 19 December 2019 to 6 January 2020, business class passengers will be delighted by a Christmas menu, created in collaboration with Tommasi Family Estates, that celebrates the authenticity of tradition and the festive atmosphere. Air Dolomiti thus further strengthens its partnership with the Tommasi family, formerly the Official Winery for 2019

Air Dolomiti and Tommasi share the same dedication to their customers and to promoting the territory. This journey through fine food and wines has been designed to offer travellers a quality culinary experience in line with the Company’s standards.
Tommasi today means not only wine, but also excellent catering, with the Borgo Antico Restaurant at the Villa Quaranta Wine Hotel & SPA and Caffè Dante Bistrot in the heart of Verona. Chefs Emanuele Selvi and Alessandro Bozza have created a joint menu that blends captivating combinations with authentic flavours. A gastronomic journey where raw materials, tradition, and undisputed creativity will bring a unique experience to life.

The menu includes a course for each moment of the day: for breakfast, the torta russa, a typical Veronese speciality with a tasty filling of almonds and amaretto; for lunch, roasted stuffed rabbit, braised Veronese radicchio and Valpolicella wine sauce, a tasty and delicious delicacy. In the afternoon, as a snack, a zabaglione bavarois with Cologna Veneta nougat and coffee filling. For dinner, finally, Lucanica sausage cooked in Ripasso wine on turmeric-flavoured Jerusalem artichoke cream with crispy half spheres of Parmesan cheese and candied ginger, a perfect combination enhanced by oriental spices. In addition, for lunch and dinner on selected routes a sbrisolona, a traditional crunchy tart, made from Cimbrian cheese from Lessinia and flavoured with rosemary, will also be offered.
The dishes will be served together with the sparkling pink Caseo Pinot Noir, the Paternoster Volcanico, made exclusively from falanghina grapes, and the elegant Tommasi Ripasso Valpolicella Superiore doc. This exclusive selection will brighten up the flight experience, making the trip special during the holidays.

Air Dolomiti passengers have shown great appreciation for the partnership with Tommasi: from January 2019 to now, around 30,000 bottles of wine from the Tommasi Family Estates that were recommended as part of the "Winery of the Year" partnership have been purchased: Casisano Rosso di Montalcino doc, Tommasi Le Fornaci Lugana doc and Caseo Pinot Nero brut
