Here are the guidelines on plane luggage fees and allowances, including benefits for Miles & More Hon Circle, Senator, and Gold Star Alliance members. Please note that the actual allowance may vary depending on the fare purchased.
Below, discover all the details regarding the number of bags allowed per age group, the required hand luggage weight and the weight limit for checked luggage, as well as the exceptions for Frequent Flyers.

If you have purchased a Light fare that does not include hold luggage, you have the option of adding plane luggage to your reservation directly online, when booking your flight ticket or in a second moment during the "Manage booking" section or by calling the Air Dolomiti Call Center.
If you wish to book the additional service with our Sales Center, a surcharge of 5 € per item of baggage and per flight segment will be charged. You get the best rates if you pay up to 8 days before flight departure – or you may pay for your extra luggage at a higher rate at the airport.
You may add extra bags for adults and children, except infants (children under two). This ancillary service is not refundable.
For all flights within Europe, for Light fare ticket (that does not include hold luggage) below fares will be applicable:
First bag Baggage Fees for Economy LIGHT fares:

• Online booking 7-0 days before departure €35*

*For departures in July and August, there is a further charge of €5.
These are the second or extra baggage fees, for all fares that include hold luggage (e.g. Economy Classic, Economy Flex):

• Online booking 7-0 days before departure 70,00€
• At the airport 90,00€
For all domestic flights within Germany, for Light fare ticket (that does not include hold luggage) below fares will be applicable:

TO REMEMBER:
• Fees are per leg for each passenger.
• Each extra bag can be up to the same size and weight as a standard checked bag.
• If at the airport your luggage exceeds the standard allowance either in weight and dimension, a surcharge may be applied. The weight limit for checked luggage is 32kg: bags exceeding this limit cannot be checked in.
• If the extra baggage fare is paid for at the airport, an extra fee may be applicable.
Additional Luggage for Frequent Travelers and Honor, Senator, and Star Gold Members
Additional free baggage (up to 23 kg in Economy class; up to 32 kg in Business class) or free golf equipment are allowed for HON, Senators or Star Gold members with an Air Dolomiti ticket (starting with 101).
The additional free baggage or free golf equipment allowance is not applicable to HON/SEN and Gold Star Members traveling with LIGHT fare anymore. Therefore all checked baggage has to be charged as extra baggage.
Frequent Traveler passengers of Miles & More and Premier Silver members of United are allowed to carry one additional checked bag weighing up to 23 kg free of charge for Economy Class bookings, except for the Light fare.
First of all, here are the specifications on hand luggage weight. Every piece of hand luggage that complies with the rules (dims max 55x40x23cm and max 8kg) can now be checked in free of charge – even if you have booked a Light fare. Please deliver your handbag at the check-in counter.
This also applies to transit passengers in Germany who pass through security checks.

The maximum weight for hand baggage is 8kg and dimensions for carry-on baggage: max 55x40x20cm.
For Economy Class fares only one item is included; the hand baggage in Business class fares includes two pieces of carry-on baggage up to 8 kg each.

Regarding items allowed on board the aircraft, here is a comprehensive list:
• Electronic devices and batteries, such as electronic cigarettes and spare lithium-ion batteries (items used as power sources, such as portable batteries, are considered spare batteries: each passenger may carry up to 20 batteries). Powerbanks and similar devices used as power sources are considered spare batteries and therefore cannot be transported in checked baggage. Medical devices such as POCs (portable oxygen concentrators), cameras, cell phones, laptops, and tablets are allowed for personal use. It is noted that each person can carry up to 15 portable electronic devices. Should there be no space to safely stow all hand luggage on board, you may be asked at the gate to place some or all of it in the cargo hold. If you have any doubts regarding the transport of devices containing lithium batteries, we invite you to contact our Sales Center to ensure that the transport of these devices is permitted.
• Personal documents, medications, valuables, cell phone, and laptop should be carried in cabin baggage.
Important information for the passengers flying to the United States: effective from 30th June 2018 powder-like substances over 12 oz. / 350 mL should be placed in checked bags. Powders over 12 oz. / 350 mL in carry-on bags may be prohibited.
On then contrary, it’s prohibited to bring the following items into the passenger cabin and in hand luggage: guns, firearms, stun devices, objects with a sharp point or edge, work tools, blunt instruments, explosive substances, and incendiary devices. You can find the list of prohibited items in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 2015/1998.
If your trip includes a transfer with a connecting flight, your check-in baggage will usually be sent to your final destination. The baggage claim tag that you receive when dropping off your baggage always states your bag’s final destination.
When transferring, you only need to collect your plane luggage and check it in again for your connecting flight, if:
• You have purchased 2 or more tickets from different airlines that have dissimilar conditions
• You arrive at one airport and your connecting flight departs from another airport
• Your transfer lasts longer than 12 hours or your next flight departs the next day.
Should your plane luggage be misplaced report its loss to the airport Lost & Found Office on arrival. The staff will open a baggage irregularity file. You will be given a Property Irregularity Report (PIR), and you may check for any updates about the tracing of your baggage using its reference number (ex. Should you find out on arrival that your baggage has been damaged, please report the damage on arrival at the airport Lost & Found Office.
The staff will open a baggage irregularity file. You will be given a Damaged Property Report (DPR) and all the necessary instructions.

Each liquid you carry in your carry-on plane luggage must be in its own container of no more than 100 ml. All liquids must be placed in a transparent, re-sealable plastic bag with a total volume of no more than 1 litre. One transparent plastic bag may be taken per person.
However, these specifics liquids are allowed on planes:
• Baby food to be consumed during the flight
• Medicines to be taken during the flight, provided you have a prescription or attending physician's statement
• Special diet foods to be consumed during the flight
Baggage allowances and policies can vary from airline to airline. If your journey includes a flight with an airline other than Air Dolomiti, your checked baggage allowance may be different:
• If your entire journey is with another airline, their checked baggage allowance will apply. For example, if you fly Lufthansa from Milan Malpensa to Munich, Lufthansa’s baggage policy applies, even if the flight is operated by Air Dolomiti,
• If your journey includes connecting flights with more than one airline, the checked baggage policy of the airline that operates the longer leg will apply. For example, if you fly with Lufthansa from New York to Munich and connect onto Air Dolomiti from Munich to Venice, the leg with Lufthansa is longer and their baggage policy applies to the whole journey.
For safety and security reasons, it is prohibited to carry in plane luggage (carry-on and hold) the items listed in Regulation (EU) No.2015/1998. The list of forbidden items in accordance with EU Directive 2015/1998 can be found here.

Folding strollers, wheelchairs and crutches can be taken to the side of the aircraft for free thanks to the “Delivery at Aircraft” (DAA) procedure, which can be requested by passengers at the check-in desks or at the gate.

In the case of connecting flights, passengers must specify if they wish to retrieve the items at the transit airport. The items will be placed in the hold and given back at the side of the aircraft or at baggage reclaim.
