Discover the International Book Fair, the annual event in Turin

Turin is one of Italy's cultural capitals, and literature is at the heart of its identity. The city was home to literary giants such as Primo Levi, Italo Calvino, Antonio Gramsci, Umberto Eco and Cesare Pavese, as well as many lesser-known authors.

With a heritage like that, it's no surprise that the capital of Piedmont hosts Italy's leading book festival: the Turin International Book Fair ( Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino).

 

Wondering what to do in Turin in May ? The Turin International Book Fair is the answer. Expect engaging talks on political and social themes, tributes to literary icons and plenty of activities for casual readers and book lovers alike.

The 2026 edition took place from 14 to 18 May. As always, the fair offered a packed schedule of author talks, film screenings and live music concerts that delighted culture lovers from Italy and abroad.
