One of the most famous places in the Riviera Romagnola is Rimini, the birthplace of director Federico Fellini, who spent the most carefree years of his life here.
With its huge offer of hotels and restaurants, but also centres for sports activities such as surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, Rimini is the ideal destination for anyone looking for social life and a healthy bustle.
The coast of Rimini stretches for 15 km and is split into over 250 beach resorts that are equipped for all needs (there are some free beaches if you prefer to avoid paying for sun beds and beach umbrellas).
Rimini has a lot to offer to those who love to dance until the morning. Altromondo Studio, the Carnaby Club and Coconuts are just a few of the most popular clubs in the area, but the world’s most famous DJs perform in nearby Riccione.
Riccione is 10 km away from Rimini, with a golden beach and the historic Viale Ceccarini, the city’s main promenade, where there are luxury stores, trendy boutiques and gourmet restaurants.
Riccione is mainly known for its night clubs such as Peter Pan and Byblos, which offer a unique and enticing atmosphere. Cocoricò, meanwhile, has been an iconic techno club since the 1990s. The pyramid-shaped club is among the ‘Top 100 Clubs’ according to DJ Magazine and has been described as ‘the Mecca of dance music’.
It’s not only the night life that makes this area such an irresistible destination for young people and families: here you can do sports such as beach volleyball, windsurfing and kitesurfing, or you can rent a bike and discover the coastal scenery.
Some of the most beautiful beaches include Marina di Ravenna, Cattolica and Cesenatico, with their crystal-clear waters and long stretches of golden sand. Here you can experience a quieter holiday, enjoying local dishes and staying in one of the fabulous hotels overlooking the beach.
