    • What about excess baggage?

If you have purchased a Light Fare ticket, you have the option of adding luggage to your reservation by calling the Air Dolomiti Call Center*. You get the best rates if you pay up to one day prior departure – or you may pay for your extra luggage at a higher rate at the airport.

You may add extra bags for adults and children, except infants (children under two).

Economy LIGHT – Excess Baggage Fees
not later than 24 hours prior departure Departure day
      First bag €35 €50
Second or extra bag €50 €50

      First suitcase INCLUDED INCLUDED
Second or extra suitcase €50 €50

Fees are per leg for each passenger.

Each extra bag can be up to the same size and weight as a standard checked bag. If at the airport your luggage exceeds the standard allowance either in weight and dimension, a surcharge may be applied. Bags over 32kg cannot be checked in.

If the extra baggage fare is paid for at the airport, an extra fee may be applicable.

      * Please call our Sales Center to add the luggage if you own an Air Dolomiti ticket (starting with 101-xxxxxxxx).

    • What are the weight and measurement limitations for hand luggage?

The maximum weight for hand baggage is 7kg in Light fare. The hand baggage in Plus and Emotion fare includes one cabin bag and a personal item (ex. a laptop, a coat, an umbrella) for a total maximum weight of 10kg.
      Maximum dimension: 55x40x20cm

If the free hand baggage allowance is exceeded in terms of number, dimensions and/or weight, the fee for excess baggage will be charged. Personal documents, medicines, valuables, mobile phones and laptops should be carried in cabin bags.

The following may not be taken into the cabin: weapons, potential weapons, imitation/replica weapons, pointed, sharp or blunt items (e.g. scissors, pocket knives, baseball bats) and all other dangerous goods.

When there is insufficient space to stow all hand baggage safely on board you may be asked to check in some or all of your hand baggage at the boarding gate.

    • What kind of liquids can I carry in my hand baggage?

Each liquid you carry in your hand baggage must be in its own container of no more than 100 ml. All liquids must be placed in a transparent, re-sealable plastic bag with a total volume of no more than 1 litre. One transparent plastic bag may be taken per person.

      However, you may always bring:
      •    Baby food to be consumed during the flight
      •    Medicines to be taken during the flight, provided you have a prescription or attending physician's statement
      •    Special diet foods to be consumed during the flight

    • If my trip includes a transfer with a connecting flight, will my check-in baggage be sent to my final destination?

If your trip includes a transfer with a connecting flight, your check-in baggage will usually be sent to your final destination. The baggage claim tag that you receive when dropping off your baggage always states your bag’s final destination.

When transferring, you only need to collect your baggage and check it in again for your connecting flight, if:
      •    You have purchased 2 or more tickets from different airlines that have dissimilar conditions
      •    You arrive at one airport and your connecting flight departs from another airport
      •    Your transfer lasts longer than 12 hours or your next flight departs the next day.

    • What does it happen if my journey includes flights with other airlines?

Baggage allowances and policies can vary from airline to airline. If your journey includes a flight with an airline other than Air Dolomiti, your checked baggage allowance may be different:

      •    If your entire journey is with another airline, their checked baggage allowance will apply. For example, if you fly Lufthansa from Milan Malpensa to Munich, Lufthansa’s baggage policy applies, even if the flight is operated by Air Dolomiti,
      •    If your journey includes connecting flights with more than one airline, the checked baggage policy of the airline that operates the longer leg will apply. For example, if you fly with Lufthansa from New York to Munich and connect onto Air Dolomiti to Venice, the leg with Lufthansa is longer and their baggage policy applies to the whole journey.

    • Can I transport special baggage?

You can bring sporting equipment and other items instead of a suitcase only if you have booked your flight in the PLUS or EMOTION fare (in this case sporting equipment is included in the free baggage allowance).
If you booked your flight in the LIGHT fare, you will be charged the fee for the transportation of sporting equipment.

For items larger than 2 meters or heavier than 32kg, transportation will be denied.

      Important: reserve for special baggage

Because of limited space on our aircraft, you need to make a reservation for the transportation of some types of special baggage as early as possible – no later than 48 hours before departure.

Make sure that the reservation is confirmed before departure to ensure that you can take your special baggage with you.

    • What are the regulations for sporting equipment?

      •    A pair of skis max 2 metres long (or a snowboard), a pair of poles, a pair of ski boots (in a separate bag), a helmet.

In case free allowance is exceeded, a fee of €50 per flight will be charged.

      Golf clubs and umbrellas

      •    Golf equipment containing one set of golf clubs, golf balls and a pair of shoes, all packed in a recognised bag or case to safeguard against damage.
      •    A golfing umbrella or parasol carried separately counts as one item of baggage.

In case free allowance is exceeded, a fee of €50 per flight will be charged.

      Bicycles

We will accept up to 5 regular non-motorised bicycles per flight.
Please note that it is not mandatory to remove the pedals or fix them inwards, to fix the handlebars sideways nor deflate the tyres.
We do recommend however that you pack the bike in a protective case or bag, although this is not mandatory.

Transportation of bicycles must be booked in advance as space on the aircraft is limited.

In case free allowance is exceeded, a fee of €50 per flight will be charged.

      Diving equipment

      •    Diving mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, BCD-jacket, regulator, an empty tank bottle, a lamp (switched off, energy source separately packed, remove battery to protect against short circuit)

    • Can I carry sports arms/weapons?

Firearms and ammunition for shooting and hunting purposes travel as checked-in baggage and under strict conditions. You always need to make a special reservation for the transportation of firearms and ammunition.

In addition to a weapon or a weapon case you may also bring max. 5 kg sports/hunting ammunition, a shooting mat, small items of equipment and ear muffs.

      Please note:
      •    You need to have all the required permits in your possession.
      •    Ammunition may only be for sporting purposes.
      •    Firearms and rifles must be unloaded and safely packed in a break and fire-proof container.
      •    Cartridges and ammunitions must be transported separately in a break and fire-proof container.
      •    Transporting ammunition with explosive or incendiary projectiles is not permitted.
      •    When you check in your baggage you will need to declare that your weapon is unloaded and the ammunition has been packed separately.

The transportation of weapons must be booked in advance and it is regulated by international and national legislation. The Italian Law regulating this matter is the n. 694/74.

The service must be requested at time of booking. A fee for the transportation will be charged, moreover, in some airports, you might be requested to pay an extra fee for the handling of the weapon.

In case free allowance is exceeded, a fee of €50 per flight will be charged.

    • Can I carry musical instruments or other special baggage with me?
