-2 bags up to 32 kg each OR 1 bag + 1 golf bag flying in Business class (Emotion fare).

    • What are the weight and measurement limitations for hand luggage?

The maximum weight for hand baggage is 7kg in Light fare. The hand baggage in Plus and Emotion fare includes one cabin bag and a personal item (ex. a laptop, a coat, an umbrella) for a total maximum weight of 10kg.
      Maximum dimension: 55x40x20cm

If the free hand baggage allowance is exceeded in terms of number, dimensions and/or weight, the fee for excess baggage will be charged. Personal documents, medicines, valuables, mobile phones and laptops should be carried in cabin bags.

The following may not be taken into the cabin: weapons, potential weapons, imitation/replica weapons, pointed, sharp or blunt items (e.g. scissors, pocket knives, baseball bats) and all other dangerous goods.

When there is insufficient space to stow all hand baggage safely on board you may be asked to check in some or all of your hand baggage at the boarding gate.

    • What kind of liquids can I carry in my hand baggage?

Each liquid you carry in your hand baggage must be in its own container of no more than 100 ml. All liquids must be placed in a transparent, re-sealable plastic bag with a total volume of no more than 1 litre. One transparent plastic bag may be taken per person.

      However, you may always bring:
      •    Baby food to be consumed during the flight
      •    Medicines to be taken during the flight, provided you have a prescription or attending physician's statement
      •    Special diet foods to be consumed during the flight

    • If my trip includes a transfer with a connecting flight, will my check-in baggage be sent to my final destination?

If your trip includes a transfer with a connecting flight, your check-in baggage will usually be sent to your final destination. The baggage claim tag that you receive when dropping off your baggage always states your bag’s final destination.

When transferring, you only need to collect your baggage and check it in again for your connecting flight, if:
      •    You have purchased 2 or more tickets from different airlines that have dissimilar conditions
      •    You arrive at one airport and your connecting flight departs from another airport
      •    Your transfer lasts longer than 12 hours or your next flight departs the next day.

    • What does it happen if my journey includes flights with other airlines?

Baggage allowances and policies can vary from airline to airline. If your journey includes a flight with an airline other than Air Dolomiti, your checked baggage allowance may be different:

      •    If your entire journey is with another airline, their checked baggage allowance will apply. For example, if you fly Lufthansa from Milan Malpensa to Munich, Lufthansa’s baggage policy applies, even if the flight is operated by Air Dolomiti,
      •    If your journey includes connecting flights with more than one airline, the checked baggage policy of the airline that operates the longer leg will apply. For example, if you fly with Lufthansa from New York to Munich and connect onto Air Dolomiti to Venice, the leg with Lufthansa is longer and their baggage policy applies to the whole journey.

    • Can I transport special baggage?

You can bring sporting equipment and other items instead of a suitcase only if you have booked your flight in the PLUS or EMOTION fare (in this case sporting equipment is included in the free baggage allowance).
If you booked your flight in the LIGHT fare, you will be charged the fee for the transportation of sporting equipment.

For items larger than 2 meters or heavier than 32kg, transportation will be denied.

      Important: reserve for special baggage

Because of limited space on our aircraft, you need to make a reservation for the transportation of some types of special baggage as early as possible – no later than 48 hours before departure.

Make sure that the reservation is confirmed before departure to ensure that you can take your special baggage with you.

    • What are the regulations for sporting equipment?

      Skis and snowboards

      •    A pair of skis max 2 metres long (or a snowboard), a pair of poles, a pair of ski boots (in a separate bag), a helmet.

In case free allowance is exceeded, a fee of €50 per flight will be charged.

      Bicycles

We will accept up to 5 regular non-motorised bicycles per flight.
Please note that it is not mandatory to remove the pedals or fix them inwards, to fix the handlebars sideways nor deflate the tyres.
We do recommend however that you pack the bike in a protective case or bag, although this is not mandatory.

Transportation of bicycles must be booked in advance as space on the aircraft is limited.

In case free allowance is exceeded, a fee of €50 per flight will be charged.

    • Can I carry sports arms/weapons?

Only firearms and ammunition for shooting and hunting sports can be carried, and these only as checked hold baggage subject to strict conditions. The carriage of firearms must always be booked in advance.
In addition to the firearm or its case, you may carry a maximum of 5 kg of ammunition for shooting/hunting sports.

      Please note:
      •    You must have all the necessary permits
      •    Ammunition must be exclusively for sporting purposes
      •    Firearms must be unloaded and packed in an unbreakable case.
      •    The cartridges and ammunition must be carried separately from firearms in an unbreakable case and must be firmly secured in the case to protect them against impact and movement.
      •    The carriage of ammunition with explosive or incendiary bullets is not permitted.
      •    When checking in the baggage, you must declare that the firearms are not loaded and that the ammunition has been packed separately, and complete the form provided. More information will be supplied at check-in.
      •    Once the firearms have been checked in and tagged, the carrier will provide a suitable escort and handling of the firearms and/or ammunition to the aircraft.
      •    Return of the firearm at the destination will comply with local regulations. In the case of flights arriving in Italy, passengers must report to the Police Bureau for the return of the firearm and/or ammunition. The carriage of weapons and ammunition is subject to international and national legislation. More specifically, for flights departing from and/or arriving in Italy, the applicable law is No. 694/74.

The service must be requested when making the reservation. In some airports, may ask travellers to pay an additional fee for handling weapons.

Excess baggage will be charged EUR 50.00 for each leg of the flight.

Further fees may apply, depending on the departure airport, for security measures in which case these will be charged separately.

    • Can I carry musical instruments or other special baggage with me?

Musical instruments can be carried in one of the following three ways:

      1.    As extra baggage.
The instrument must not weigh more than 23 kg and must be in a hard case. Make sure the instrument is properly packed or the Airline will not be liable for any damage.  The instrument must be included in the passenger reservation. Check the cost of the service by contacting the Airline directly.

      2.    As hand baggage.
Small musical instruments, such as violins or smaller instruments, can be carried instead of hand baggage. The instrument must be small enough to fit in the overhead cabin lockers.

      3.     On an extra seat.
Larger instruments that do not fit into the overhead cabin lockers or under the seat may be carried on a seat in the cabin, provided they fall within certain measurements. The maximum measurements are 155X42X25 cm from the floor of the cabin or 110x42x50cm from the seat. The maximum weight allowed is 75kg.
This seat must be booked at the same time as the passenger ticket by contacting Air Dolomiti. The service is subject to costs that must be checked directly with the Airline.

The carriage of musical instruments must always be booked in advance.
