Verona and its province offer tourists numerous opportunities as regards sport and open air life.
Golf lovers can play in the green hills above Garda at the Cà degli Ulivi Golf Club, famous not only for its course but also its astonishing views over the lake.
If cycling is your favourite pastime, you can enjoy the whole area thanks to specific mountain bike routes from the hinterland down to the lake; among the hillsides of the Lessinia mountains or the delightful bicycle route along the banks of the River Mincio.
Lovers of water sports, on the other hand, can go sailing or windsurfing on Lake Garda, while the River Adige offers canoeing, rafting and kayaks with unusual views of Verona itself.
Winter offers all kinds of opportunity for sport in the province of Verona, especially in the Lessinia mountains and Monte Baldo, where there are several ski lifts for downhill and cross-country skiing; lower down, there are facilities for ice-skating and snow-shoe treks along one of the many itineraries in the woods, stopping for a pause in the mountain farms and refuges on the way.
