Bari beaches and nearby seaside resorts
In addition to the undisputed allure of its city centre, offering the perfect balance between past and present, Bari also has a beautiful coast. The most famous beach in the city is “Pane e Pomodoro”, an absolute must for sea-loving Bari natives right on their doorstep. Continuing south, you come across Torre a Mare and Mola di Bari with their mostly rocky coastlines.
One of the best-known coastal towns is Polignano a Mare, an absolute jewel overlooking a turquoise sea. The home town of singer Domenico Modugno of “Volare” fame, Polignano’s grottos and coves draw Italian and foreign tourists alike.
Another place not to be missed is Monopoli which, with its low rocks and crystal-clear sea, boasts some really beautiful beaches like Porta Vecchia, Porto Bianco, Porto Rosso, Porto Paradiso, Porto Ghiacciolo, Lido Santo Stefano and Porto Giardino.
