The Milan Malpensa Airport is the most important airport in Lombardy and is not far from Varese. The centre of Milan is easy to reach from airport Terminal 1. Shuttle buses or the train take travellers to the Rho-Fiera fair district or to the central train station in about 1 hour. Malpensa Express offers a service to the Busto Arisizio, Cadorna and Central train stations. The airport is easy to reach by car on motorway A8 for those arriving from Milan or towns in the north and east, on motorway A4 from the west, and on motorway A1 from the south.
