Air Dolomiti has obtained the validation of the Environmental Declaration submitted for the EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), a regulation created by the European Community to which public and private companies, that want to assess and improve their environmental efficiency, can adhere.
The requirements for enrolment are the existence of an Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015) and the presentation, with subsequent validation, of an Environmental Statement. EMAS promotes continuous improvement in the performance of organisations through the establishment and application of environmental management systems, the regular and systematic evaluation of these protocols and the reporting of the results obtained.
The registration in Italy is issued by ISPRA, the Institute for Environmental Protection and Research and will last three years. Adherence to EMAS will guarantee the adoption of eco-processes, reducing the incidence of events that could damage the environment, provide guarantees of compliance with environmental regulations and encourage the development and growth of technical and scientific knowledge for the continuous improvement of environmental performance.
After obtaining UNI EN ISO 9001 certification in 2000, ISO/IEC 27001 in 2017 and ISO 14001:2015 in 2020, which are periodically monitored and renewed to guarantee compliance with the required standards.
Air Dolomiti is the first Italian public passenger airline to obtain this certification.
