Air Dolomiti inaugurates the new runway at "Il Caravaggio" Airport
with the Milan Bergamo Orio al Serio - Munich flight!
Bergamo, 20 May 2014 - Air Dolomiti, the Italian Airline of Lufthansa Group, and "Il Caravaggio" Milan Bergamo Orio al Serio International Airport are pleased to announce the commencement of operations serving Munich Airport.
The Milan Orio al Serio-Munich flight sees Air Dolomiti be the first airline to use the new runway after a period of closure for relaying work with the flight scheduled at 06:45.
The flight will operate from 2 June until 30 November with two daily flights (excluding weekends when there is only one flight per day). The route is an excellent opportunity for everyone living, working or passing through Lombardy in being able to reach the Munich Hub or proceed to another destination anywhere in the world.
It takes only 60 minutes to fly to Bavaria without the stress of driving: a comfortable journey with Air Dolomiti hallmarked by on-board excellence reaching Munich, as a stop-off for other international connections or as a final destination itself.
The new connection has started operations as indicated below using the latest generation Embraer 195 120 seater state-of-the-art aeroplane (the Air Dolomiti fleet has a total of 10 such aircraft with an average age of 2.9 years):

The Milan Bergamo Orio al Serio – Munich flight joins Air Dolomiti's list of own business flights (i.e. operated under the airline's own responsibility with its own EN code) with the possibility of choosing, for point to point trips, the best fares from three proposals: Light, Plus and Emotion.
“Following previous experience through this airport, we are delighted to resume operations with Munich because we are convinced of the strategic importance of Milan Bergamo Orio Al Serio Airport. This connection completes our offering for Lombardy where we already operate routes through Milan Malpensa. The flight is an excellent opportunity for reaching one of the most important European hubs that every year handles 39 million passengers. The route is ideal for travellers who will stay in Munich thanks to our competitive fares, as well as for those who will continue their flights to other destinations. There are perfect connections serving Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hanover, New York, Mumbai, Delhi and Shanghai. The new flight takes only one hour to reach the hub directly: the time to read a newspaper and enjoy our on board service, and you have already arrived at destination," says Paolo Sgaramella, Vice President Network & Commercial at Air Dolomiti.
“We are delighted to welcome the resumption of Air Dolomiti operations through Milan Bergamo Orio Al Serio Airport, which will coincide with the re-opening of the runway after completing relaying work that required closure 13 May - 1 June. At 06:45 on Monday 2 June, and the Dolomiti Embraer 195 will be the first to take-off again through our Airport. The new route serving Munich offers passengers departing from Bergamo Airport the chance to continue conveniently to one of the most important international and intercontinental destinations in turn served by the German hub's network. At the same time, we hope that the link with Munich will also encourage passengers from all over the world to take advantage of this direct connection to visit eastern Lombardy, not the least with a view to the appointment with Expo 2015," says Andrea Mentasti SACBO General Manager.
