Open Air Rome

Rome offers all tourists every kind of opportunity for enjoying a few hours in the open air as well as visiting museums and historic palaces.
One of the best ways is to hire a bicycle near Villa Borghese and set off to visit the main places of interest using alternative means of transport.
Villa Borghese also offers the chance for a few hours on horseback inside the exclusive Il Galoppatoio equestrian club. If, on the other hand, you prefer spending a few hours playing sports, you can go jogging at Villa Doria Pamphili close to the Vatican along the huge number of fitness tracks inside Rome's biggest park.
If it gets a little too hot, we suggest that instead of running around the park it might be a good idea to take a dip in the large Rose swimming pool, in the EUR district, or - if you can hire a car - perhaps drive to one of the many beaches on the coastline.
For people on the other hand who are keen about personal and physical well-being, we suggest a break from the most chaotic monumental places in Rome at the Terme dei Papi spa 90 km from Rome: you won't regret it: swollen feet and tiredness will soon become long forgotten!
